It is the minor panchayath village in Thallarevu mandal. Georgepeta has a historical background, Georgepeta the name proposed by a British emperor George. He named this village as Georgepeta. due to a fast developing of industries and cultures in this village later renamed as George Town.
The Georgepeta revenue previously part in Neelapalli Panchayath and it was separated from Neelapalli revenue in the year 1972. In olden days this town was used for storing tobacco by the British people. Every year people celebrate Mukkoti Ekadasi at the year end.
At the time of British period, coins were minted from this place. Well known persons played vital role and fought against the neighboring French rules at Yanam and at last they succeeded in merging Yanam in India during Nehru's primeminister.
This is the only village in Thallarevu Mandal which produces Ph.D. scholars in biological sciences and a maximum of ten engineers per year to our country like Mr Phani Kumar Saladi( Civil Rocks),satyanarayana kanuri(Mechanical).Tilak kumar( electrical & electronics), srikar medidhi (Electronics & communications) etc..Further number of advocates take birth from this place. Among them Sri Saladi Gangadhara Rama Rao, Saladi Gopala Krishna, Kanakala Ananda Kodanda Rao, Saladi Durga Srinivas, Kola Satya Prasad.
